Exams Invigilators

  • Contract: Zero hours (08.00 to 16.30 Monday to Friday as required and depending on availability)
  • Pay: £12 per hour
  • Start date: 9th May 2024
  • Closing date: 25th March 2024

We are seeking to recruit a team of invigilators to assist with the summer GCSE and A level exam series.

Invigilators are responsible for administering all aspects of public examination and certification processes and ensuring that examination board procedures are followed throughout.

No experience is necessary as full training will be provided in line with JCQ guidelines; however, candidates should have excellent administrative and time management skills and be able to demonstrate they are reliable and able to work with the utmost integrity.

Health and Social Care Teacher (FT)

  • Contract: permanent, full-time
  • Salary: MPS/UPS Outer London
  • Start date: immediately/May or September 2024
  • Closing date: interviews to be arranged on receipt of suitable applications

We have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Social Care Teacher looking to take the next step in their career. Candidates should have experience of delivering the BTEC or GCSE courses at Key Stage 4 and 5 and of managing the associated course work, data and assessments. They should be able to demonstrate outstanding classroom management with a dynamic teaching style and proven excellent results at both key stages. We are looking for someone who will help us drive further success in this popular subject.

The successful applicant is expected to be a passionate individual, strongly motivated to become active and engaged within both our Computing and Life Sciences Faculty and our diverse school community. We would love to hear from qualified teachers with the flexibility to teach a second subject.

Maths Teacher

  • Contract: permanent, full-time
  • Salary: MPS/UPS Outer London
  • Closing date: 18th February 2024
  • Start date: Immediately/May 2024

We are seeking a Maths Teacher with excellent subject knowledge and demonstrable success in raising student outcomes. Applicants should possess a dynamic teaching style that inspires and engages students. The successful candidate will work with other members of the department to drive a focus on progress and raising achievement across all key stages. Applicants should be passionate individuals who are strongly motivated to quickly integrate themselves into this diverse community.

The role is suited to both ECTs and more experienced teachers. The ability to teach maths to Key Stage 5 would be advantageous.

Lunchtime Supervisor

  • Contract: permanent
  • Salary: £3,644.54 actual salary (SCP 2, £23,628 FTE)
  • Hours: 13.05-14.20, Mon-Fri, term-time only
  • Closing date: interviews to be arranged on receipt of suitable applications
  • Start date: January/April 2024

We are seeking a lunchtime supervisor to monitor and supervise our students over the lunchtime period to ensure their safety, well-being and good conduct. Additional responsibilities include wiping the dining tables, sanitising and clearing refuse.

Applicants should have experience of working with children, preferably within a school, be assertive and willing to assist other staff when requested.

Cleaner

  • Contract: permanent, term-time plus 4 weeks
  • Salary: grade 1, SCP 2 - £23,208 pro rata, actual salary £15,777.24
  • Hours: 25 hours per week, shift pattern: 10.15-15.00 and 13.30–18.45
  • Closing date: interviews to be arranged on receipt of suitable applications
  • Start date: January/April 2024

We are looking for an experienced cleaner to join our busy team in undertaking various duties throughout the school.

Candidates should have experience of working as a cleaner at an education establishment or large office space and have an understanding of the importance of maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Understanding the principles of health and safety in a school environment including Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH) is essential as is the ability to identify hazards.

Duties will include mopping; hoovering; wiping desks and emptying bins in classrooms and shared areas; cleaning toilets; and general tidying. The cleaning team are required to work on specified dates during each school closure period.

Norbury High School for Girls is an over-subscribed 11-19 girls’ school. Provisional data (Oct 2019) ranks us "well above average" nationally for student progress and very positively within the London Borough of Croydon. We were voted Best Secondary School in Croydon in 2019. 

The school has a supportive induction programme for all new staff and is committed to continuing professional development. Experienced staff are able to join our middle leadership and senior leadership training programmes and many of our teaching staff choose to enrol on our subsidised school-based MA programme that is run in conjunction with  St Mary's University.

The school is a member of PiXL. We share expertise and resources with Kensington Avenue Primary School, a fellow academy overseen by The Manor Trust.
