Psychology

Psychology is a broad and interesting subject that attempts to explain human behaviour using empirical science.  At NMBEC we offer Psychology at AS and A2 level following AQA Specification A.  Students need a good knowledge of Maths and Science (at least C grade at GCSE) in order to access the subject.

Throughout the A level course, students will acquire and develop skills to critically analyse and evaluate research studies and topic information.  In Year 11, students are given the opportunity to experience an introduction to the subject through their PSHE options as well as during Sixth Form taster days.

The department is dedicated to the success of the students who take Psychology and expect students to be committed, independent learners.
