Content
This course consists of 6 Units:
The 3 AS Units are:
- Unit 1 – ICT and Society
- Unit 2 – ICT and Organisations
- Unit 3 – Data Handling
For A2 the 3 units are:
- Unit 8 – Project Management
- Unit 10 – Advanced Spreadsheet Design
- A choice of Unit 12 – Publishing or Unit 14 – Interactive Multimedia
Assessment
Students will be assessed in each unit on their practical and theoretical skills.
Unit 1 – Candidates complete an AQA-set assignment under controlled conditions (15 hours). This is externally assessed.
Unit 2 & 3 – Candidates produce a portfolio of work
Unit 8 & (Unit 12 or 14) - Candidates produce a portfolio of work
Unit 10 - Candidates complete an AQA-set assignment under controlled conditions (20 hours). This is externally assessed.
Special Requirements
Students will need a C in GCSE ICT or a Merit or above in OCR Nationals or BTEC to be accepted onto this course.
