Drama is taught for 1 lesson per week in Key Stage 3.
In Key Stage 4 it is a popular and successful option subject at GCSE. We follow the EDEXCEL syllabus which allows for greater flexibility.
Unit 1 of the GCSE syllabus sees the students studying a theme.
Unit 2 is the study of plays such as:
* "The Crucible" by Arthur Miller
* "Two" by Jim Cartwright
* "Miss Julie" by August Strindberg
Unit 3 allows the students to perform their own devised pieces.
We are very lucky to be part of the National Theatres "Interact Project". This has allowed parties of Year 8 students the opportunity to see performances of "Henry V" and "His Dark Materials" as well as experiencing Drama workshops in school.
